Borderline
Portraits of Egyptian Migration.
A series exploring the migration wave of skilled Egyptian workers to Europe.
This series explores the stories of Egyptians who left not only through degrees, job contracts, and visa stamps, but also through growing political disillusionment and economic pressure.
Their migration may appear smoother, even privileged, yet beneath that surface lie deeper currents: a quiet urgency to leave, a loss of faith in what's possible back home. By focusing on these skilled professionals, I aim to uncover a different narrative — one where migration is both opportunity and escape, advantage and necessity, clarity and contradiction.
